For the Sunday Supper in January, we will be at the Japanese restaurant Shiro (105 Stockbridge Road, Great Barrington) on January 12, 2014 at 6:00 pm. We are avoiding the third Sunday of January when the restaurant will be very busy because that Sunday (the 19th) precedes the Martin Luther King Monday Holiday.

We will sit at one of the two Hibachi tables.  Seating is in a square configuration with the Hibachi chef inside the square with his grill.  Each person orders from the Hibachi section of the menu. There will be separate checks  and an 18% tip added to each bill by the restaurant.  Hibachi dining is usually a lot of fun because of the antics of the chef.

If you go to Shiro‘s website,  you can see the Hibachi section of the menu. There are many Hibachi dishes to choose from at different prices. The most inexpensive is $16 which with tip and tax comes out to a total of $20.

The largest of the two Hibachi tables will seat 20 maximum. They will not be unhappy if we are at least 15. That’s my minimum target for attendance. Above 20, I will create a waiting list. If we are 10 or less, there is a smaller Hibachi square which seats a maximum of 10. But 10 is not a very good attendance result.

Please let me know if you’re coming. Sooner rather than later, I hope.  Contact info:
