Journaling
On Easter Sunday, the Gospel of Mark tells us that the three women encounter a man who tells them that Jesus is not in the tomb, that he is risen. They are told to go back home to Galilee, where he will meet them.

In these 50 days of Easter, you are invited to engage in the spiritual practice of journaling. Each day find a time and a place to sit in quiet and write how Jesus is meeting you in your life. Once a week, our Rector Janet, will provide reflection questions for you to use as you like. May the risen One become a part of your story and may this story bring you and the world good news.

Sixth Sunday of Easter

John 15:9-17

Jesus said to his disciples, “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father. You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.”

The Bible Challenge
Begins Pentecost Sunday, May 20
What if we all could agree that prayerful reading of the Bible, as if it were a love letter written from God to each one of us, was vital to our spiritual lives? – The Reverend Marek P. Zabriskie. The Bible Challenge begins on Pentecost Sunday, May 20. Episcopalians in the Diocese of Western MA are going to read the Bible-the whole Bible-in 365 days beginning on Pentecost. Are you in?
Here is where you can be a part of this adventure.

  • Buy the book, “The Bible Challenge” ed. Marek Zabriskie, Forward Movement, 2012 (includes notes on readings)
  • After reading the text, join the conversation in our BIBLE CHALLENGE Revives WMA Facebook Group,

COME SING WITH US!
Are You A Choral Singer?
Contact Lee Cheek or anyone in the choir.
Why Join the Choir?
It’s good for your health
Studies have shown how choir can improve your health – it’s fantastic brain food. Brain game exercises are all over the place with the Nintedo 3DS or sudoku. Well why not start keeping your mind healthy by making music?
Here are a few things you’ll see improve with choir
  • Multi-tasking  – you’ve got to watch the conductor, keep an eye on the music and know when to come in
  • Memory – you’ve got to sing by heart sometimes
  • Focus – concentrating for an hour on a performance
  • Math – Yes, you’ve got to count!

Sunday Liturgy on your iPad or tablet!
Swap your worship bulletin for the liturgy on your iPads or tablets?
Using a tablet allows you to adjust the size and contrast of the print.
It also can help us be more responsible by saving paper.
If you would like to receive the emailed worship bulletin that goes out on Friday by noon, please email Janet or Maria at graceberkshiresma@gmail.com.

“CHANGE THE BABIES”

Please put your loose change in the jar that will be at the Welcome Table. This money that is insignificant in our day-to- day life is life-giving for these babies and those who care for them.
It costs about $1500 a year to support a baby and the Diocese’s goal is for one congregation to support one child for those years.
